RBG

1:45pm - Saturday, Sep 26, 2020

Join us at the Rio Theatre on September 26 and September 28 as we toast the late, great Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg with screenings of the 2018 documentary portrait on the life and legacy of this pioneer and leader in her field, RBG. The film details how, inspired by the lawyers who defended free speech during the Red Scare, Ginsburg refused to relinquish her passionate duty, and made a career of steadily fighting for equal rights for all citizens under the law. Through intimate interviews and unprecedented access to Ginsburg’s life outside the court, RBG tells the electric story of Ginsburg’s consuming love affairs with both the Constitution and her beloved husband Marty—and of a life’s work that led her to become an icon of justice in the highest court in the land.

"What makes it memorable is its portrait of a woman with an exceptional intellect, to be sure, but also a lifelong capacity for staggering amounts of minutely detailed, unswervingly purposeful work." (Wall Street Journal)

"Ginsburg emerges as a woman of remarkable intelligence and fortitude - who can get by on very little sleep." (Globe and Mail)

"I left the theatre informed, inspired, and eager to go to sleep at a normal hour." (New Yorker)
