Harold and Maude

Harold and Maude

8:15pm - Friday, Jan 28, 2022

"They were meant to be. But exactly what they were meant to be is not quite clear."

Hal Ashby's HAROLD AND MAUDE has got to be one of the most unconventional love stories ever, which is one of the main reasons that is has remained a crowd-pleaser (and one of the Rio Theatre's most frequently requested titles!) ever since.

The other reason?

The phenomenal chemistry between Bud Court (Harold) and the always enchanting Ruth Gordon (Maude), who turn in magnetic performances in this sweet and outrageously funny coming-of-age story about a wealthy, death-obsessed young man whose life is changed forever when he meets a much (much) older woman at a funeral.

"With far too many movies being incorrectly labeled as "cult films" these days -- I expect we'll reach a point where even blockbusters like Avengers: End Game and Jurassic World will be given that designation -- here's an example of the genuine article." (Film Frenzy)
