"Be careful what you wish for..."

Join us in raising a #WomensHistoryMonth glass to the late, great, and incredibly talented actress and filmmaker Penny Marshall, who passed away in 2018.

In 1988, Marshall made history as the first female director of a film to surpass the $100 million mark with the beloved coming-of-age comedy BIG, starring Tom Hanks as a kid from New Jersey whose wish to become "big" magically comes true. BIG would go on to become one of the biggest blockbusters catapulted Hanks (who would work with Marshall again on A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN) into a whole other level of fame, cemented the reputation of New York City's FAO Schwarz as the greatest toy store in the history of the world, ensured "Heart and Soul" was one of that year's biggest earworms, had kids going crazy for both silly string and trampolines, made a household name out of Zoltar, and secured Marshall's own, indelible status as one of Hollywood's most reliable - and bankable - filmmakers. Also starring Elizabeth Perkins, Robert Loggia, and Mercedes Ruehl.
