The Gentlemen Hecklers Present: Top Gun
"Talk to me, Goose."
Less talk, more riffing when The Gentlemen Hecklers bring back that loving feeling (or maybe take our breath away) to the Rio Theatre on Wednesday, May 8 with one of the 80's most iconic blockbusters: TOP GUN.
We feel the need... for speed! Tony Scott's 1986 blockbuster TOP GUN made an even bigger star out of Tom Cruise in the role of a daring, aviator sunglasses-wearing and motorbike-riding US Navy fighter pilot trainee who is vying to be the best of the best in his class - with a little help (and that lovin' feeling) along the way from his instructor (Kelly McGillis). Beyond the romantic drama overtones, TOP GUN is a genuine action-filled classic that features some of the most thrilling airplane dogfight sequences ever put to film - best enjoyed on the big screen! (Also: You can't go wrong with the soundtrack, a perfect 80's time capsule featuring Kenny Loggins, Berlin, Loverboy, and - of course! - The Righteous Brothers.) Also starring Anthony Edwards, Val Kilmer, Tom Skerritt, Tim Robbins, and Meg Ryan.
Eric Fell, Patrick Maliha, Gina Harms and K.C. Novak are Vancouver’s masters of movie riffing, making ‘so-bad-they’re-good’ movies even better by talking you through them - providing live, hilarious commentary - for the best bad movies!
Over the past six years, The Gentlemen Hecklers have built up a loyal cult following in Vancouver, and recently brought their talents to a wider audience thanks to the critically acclaimed Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode "Cry Wilderness" on Netflix.
