Jellicle cats unite! What’s left to be said about CATS that hasn’t already been said? The long-awaited, and much maligned, feature film adaptation of the blockbuster musical CATS returns to the Rio for a final time (or its ninth life) on Tuesday, February 18.

Despite its illustrious pedigree courtesy of Andrew Lloyd Webber and its ridiculously all-star cast led by Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson, Idris Elba, James Corden, Rebel Wilson, Taylor Swift and celebrated dancer Francesca Hayward, the movie — directed by THE KING’S SPEECH Oscar winner Tom Hooper — has not, ummm, met “expectations.”

Some may even say that it’s destined for cinema’s filthiest kitty litter box.

Which means… It’s purrrr-fect RIO THEATRE viewing!
