Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

6:30pm - Monday, Sep 7, 2020

"Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try."

Listen up, all you... Stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf-herders of East Vancouver! The theatrical cut (97) of STAR WARS EPISODE V: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK is currently navigating its way through an asteroid field, and making its way towards the Rio Theatre's giant screen to cap off the Labour Day weekend.

Now, you may think that size matters not, but when we're talking about (arguably) the best installment in George Lucas' original, iconic trilogy... You must unlearn what you have learned, and see it again, in all its big screen glory, the way nature intended.

It is a dark time for the Rebellion. Although the Death Star has been destroyed, Imperial troops have driven the Rebel forces from their hidden base and pursued them across the galaxy. Evading the dreaded Imperial Starfleet, a group of freedom fighters led by Luke Skywalker has established a new secret base on the remote ice world of Hoth. The evil lord Darth Vader, obsessed with finding young Skywalker, has dispatched thousands of remote probes into the far reaches of spaceā€¦. Starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Alec Guinness, Yoda, C-3P0, Chewbacca, R2-D2, and Darth Vader.
