The Karate Kid

6:30pm - Sunday, Sep 20, 2020

It's a cruel summer...

In light of the epic success of YouTube/Netflix's series Cobra Kai, we thought the time was right to revisit this hugely popular 80s coming-of-age story starring Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita, in his Oscar-nominated performance.

Hassled by the school bullies, Daniel LaRusso (Macchio) has his share of adolescent woes. Luckily, his apartment building houses a resident martial arts master: Kesuke Miyagi (Morita), who agrees to train Daniel ... and ends up teaching him much more than self-defense. Armed with newfound confidence, skill and wisdom, Daniel ultimately faces off against his tormentors in this hugely popular classic underdog tale.

"An exciting, sweet-tempered, heart-warming story with one of the most interesting friendships in a long time." (Roger Ebert)
