Team America: World Police
"America, fv@k yeah!"
Join us at the Rio Theatre for our very first Friday Late Night Movie of the year on January 6, 2023, when we'll be toasting (or roasting?) our Murikkan friends south of the 49th with a screening of TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE.
From the brilliant minds of Trey Parler and Matt Stone (co-creators of TV's "South Park") comes a hilarious, puppet-filled story starring North Korean ruler Kim Jong-il (Parker), who has orchestrates a global terrorist plot (shocker!). Naturally, it's up to the heavily-armed marionettes of the highly specialized "Team America" unit to stop his dastardly scheme. The group, which includes the thespian-averse technology expert Chris (Stone), not only has to face off against Jong-il, but they must also contend with F.A.G., the Film Actors Guild, a cadre of Hollywood liberals at odds with Team America's "policing the world" tactics.
"Trey and Stone's gleefully vicious, staggeringly non-PC attacks on America's right, left and center makes Team America an utterly outrageous delight." (The List)
"Outrageously, gut-bustingly hilarious." (Rolling Stone Magazine)
