This captivating coming-of-age survival tale follows a family facing an unexplainable cosmic event on their farm. When the young, curious and adventurous Rosemary discovers what she assumes to be a large beehive growing on a branch of one of their trees, she visits it each day to carefully document its unusual growth and soon discovers it’s not what she thought it was. Featuring up-and-coming Indigenous talent and a scenic Canadian landscape, as the hive and threat grows, so do tensions within the community and family. This gripping family drama from Vancouver-based filmmaker Alexander Lasheras (whose 2016 film CADENCE won the prestigious Audience Award at VIFF) explores themes of identity, loss, and survival in a world forever changed by an alien pandemic invasion.
