Monty Python and the Holy Grail: 48th 1/2 Anniversary

6:30pm - Thursday, Jan 18, 2024

MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL is a 1975 British comedy film written and performed by Monty Python (Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin) and directed by Gilliam and Jones in their feature directorial debuts.

The film parodies the legend of King Arthur’s quest for the Holy Grail. King Arthur (Chapman) and his Knights of the Round Table embark on a surreal, low-budget search for the Holly Grail, encountering many, very silly obstacles along the way - from the Black Knight and the Knights of Say “Ni!” to French Taunters and a Killer Rabbit.

Join Monty Python and a host of Monty Python fans (new amd old, and not-so-old) to celebrate the 48 1/2 anniversary of this comedy classic featuring an all-new quote-along, created exclusively for this anniversary release. Audiences will enjoy an interactive and uproarious cinematic experience in a way that only Monty Python can delivery. Get ready to go on a Medieval quest with coconut-clacking
horses and unforgettable one-liners, that will have you shouting “Bring out your dead”, singing
along as a Knight of the Round Table - and loving every [91 minutes] of it.

"So unnecessarily gorgeous, there are moments where it feels like Tarkovsky with drag and farting." (Time Out Magazine)

"The Python team's surreal take on the legend of Camelot bursts with inspired lunacy." (Total Film)

MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL (Terry Gilliam & Terry Jones, 1975 / 91 mins / PG) King Arthur, accompanied by his squire, recruits his Knights of the Round Table, including Sir Bedevere the Wise, Sir Lancelot the Brave, Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-As-Sir-Lancelot and Sir Galahad the Pure. On the way, Arthur battles the Black Knight who, despite having had all his limbs chopped off, insists he can still fight. They reach Camelot, but Arthur decides not to enter, as "it is a silly place."
