Shaun of the Dead (20th Anniversary Screening)

"You've got red on you."

Our favourite mid-aughties British rom-zom-com SHAUN OF THE DEAD is celebrating 20 years of battling the undead! Since the release of his breakout hit in 2004, British writer-director Edgar Wright has cemented himself in the pop-culture landscape with several films that have all become instant pop-culture classics (SCOTT PILGRIM vs. THE WORLD) in their own right.

Simon Pegg stars as Shaun, a 30-something loser with a dull, easy existence. When he's not working at the electronics store, he lives with his slovenly best friend, Ed (Nick Frost), in a small flat on the outskirts of London. The only unpredictable element in his life is his girlfriend, Liz, who wishes desperately for Shaun to grow up and be a man. When the town is inexplicably overrun with zombies, Shaun must rise to the occasion and protect both Liz and his mother from being eaten. With Lucy Davis, Matt Lucas, Bill Nigh, Martin Freeman, Penelope Wilton.

"Twenty years after its release, 'Shaun of the Dead' remains a joyfully silly showcase for director Edgar Wright’s hyperkinetic visual style. It’s also unsettlingly prescient." (Splice Today)

"The funniest zombie movie ever." (Good Morning America)

"'Shaun of the Dead' is not only one of the single best zombie movies ever made, but it's also as close to perfect as a film can get." (Dread Central)
