Hush: Director's Cut

Deaf-mute horror author Maddie Young lost her abilities to hear and speak after contracting bacterial meningitis at age 13, causing hearing loss and temporary vocal cord paresis which became permanent after an unsuccessful surgery. Following the critical acclaim of her novel Midnight Mass, Maddie has left New York City for a solitary life in the woods with her cat, struggling to write her next book.

"By the end of the film's brief runtime (it runs less than 80 minutes without credits), it's done exactly what it set out to do, which is to give you a thrilling, engaging experience without wasting its time or overstaying its welcome." (The Blu Spot)

"In the realm of suspense, 'Hush' stands out as a tightly wound thriller, driven by Kate Siegel’s performance and Mike Flanagan’s direction, which never misses a beat." (Denton Record-Chronicle)
