Pootie Tang
Sa. Da. Tay.
Written and directed by comic Louis C.K., the character of Pootie Tang first appeared in a sketch on HBO’s “The Chris Rock Show” before being adapted into the (now) cult-classic comedy POOTIE TANG, which is getting the Friday Late Night Movie treatment on April 15. This hilaroius and totally unique satire of blaxploitation stereotypes from the 60s and 70s, stars Lance Crouther as the ultimate cool-walking, cool-talking (his jive talk is mostly completely unintelligible, though the characters in the film totally get what he’s putting down) neighborhood hero and lady’s man who moonlights as a crime-fighting recording artist on a mission to save the children from the evils of Corporate America.. Also starring Robert Vaughn, J.B. Smoove, Jennifer Coolidge, Chris Rock, and Wanda Sykes.
