Directed by Prince himself, concert film SIGN O' THE TIMES, shot with an audience at the Rotterdam Music Hall in 1987, was released alongside his double album of the same name. Notable for its epectedly wildly innovative theatricality and extra high-energy performances, the 13-song set list sidesteps many of his "hit singles," focusing instead on deep cuts from the album itself and featuring songs including "Sign o' the Times," "Little Red Corvette", "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man", "Hot Thing,"U Got the Look", "If I Was Your Girlfriend", "The Cross", and more. Prince's own audicious and uniquely funky personality shines through here; he plays with his own sexified persona and has a good time interacting with both his capable bandmates (including Ms. Sheila E.) on stage, and his totally rapt audience.
