The Bride!

In 1930s Chicago, Frankenstein asks Dr. Euphronius to help create a companion. They give life to a murdered woman as the Bride, sparking romance, police interest, and radical social change. With Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale, Annette Benning, Penélope Cruz, Jake Gyllenhaal, Peter Srasgrard, Julianne Hough.

"THE BRIDE! unapologetically walks down the bloody aisle with style and verve, sparking mixed reactions -- some question its unity, while many more wholeheartedly say “I do” without a prenup." (Rotten Tomatoes)

"[Maggie] Gyllenhaal has crafted an imperfect rebel yell that invites you to surrender to its dream factory-fueled delirium. Ignore the naysayers, and don't wait until it amasses a cult following. This jittery contraption deserves to be appreciated now, not later. " (Miami ArtZine)

"A shocking, violent, and genre-bending tale of love, deception, and female rebellion brought to life with a punk edge." (ThatShelf)

"[Maggie] Gyllenhaal, at least, seems to be having a good time... It’s nice to see a filmmaker trying to surprise her audience as well as herself. " (The Ringer)

"This gorgeously debauched film amounts to a chaotic, an uneven but oddly beautiful collision of ideas, all captured by an agitated camera as electrically charged as the life force that reanimates the bride herself. " (Observer UK)
