West Side Story

West Side Story

6:45pm - Saturday, Jul 9, 2016

"Just play it cool, boy... Real cool."

Buoyed by Robert Wise's dazzling direction, Leonard Bernstein's score, and Stephen Sondheim's lyrics, West Side Story remains, perhaps, the most iconic of all Shakespeare adaptations ("Romeo and Juliet") to visit the big screen, winning a whopping ten Oscars (including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress Rita Moreno and Best Supporting Actor George Chakiris). The romantic tale of a turf war between rival teenage gangs in Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen and the two lovers who cross battle lines has captivated audiences for over four decades, and is best enjoyed on the big screen.
