The Terminator
He's back... And looking better than ever!
Join us at the Rio Theatre for of one of our all-time favourite double bills, James Cameron's original 1984 dystopian masterpiece THE TERMINATOR followed by its 1991 sequel, TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY.
Join us at the Rio Theatre for one of the most requested dystopian double header blockbusters that we get – James Cameron’s TERMINATOR 1 & 2 – on silver screen, (big and loud) where it belongs. 2026 marks the 35th Anniversary of one of the greatest science fiction action films of all time, TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY, and to mark the occasion Rialto Pictures has made available an all-new restoration of this iconic sequel starring starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton.
Beautifully restored and remastered for its 40th Anniversary in 2024, THE TERMINATOR made a star of Schwarzenegger in the titular role as a seemingly indestructible cyborg assassin, who, disguised as a human known as a Terminator, travels from 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor (Hamilton). Sent to protect Sarah is Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn), who divulges the coming of Skynet, an artificial intelligence system that will spark a nuclear holocaust. Sarah is targeted because Skynet knows that her unborn son will lead the fight against them. With the virtually unstoppable Terminator in hot pursuit, she and Kyle attempt to escape.
"As chillingly efficient in exacting thrills from its audience as its titular character is in executing its targets."
