Terminator 2: Judgement Day (35th Anniversary Restoration)
He's back... And looking better than ever!
Reprising the role that cemented his film career as a larger-than-life action hero, Schwarzenegger is the titular cyborg killer, now reprogrammed and sent to present day (1995) Los Angeles to protect Sarah Connor (Hamilton) and her son (Edward Furlong) from a more advanced and deadlier android (Robert Patrick).
A milestone in computer generated special effects, “T2” set a new standard for science fiction and action movies in general. “Ahhnold's” persona, a mightily body sculpted “alien” who can dispense wise-cracks as quickly as ammo clips, became a model for many '80s muscle men as action stars. Brad Fiedel's electronic score has been hailed as one of the genre’s greatest and was performed live with the film last month at London's Eventim Apollo.
Set eleven years after the original THE TERMINATOR, young John Connor (the key to civilization's victory over a future robot uprising) is the target of the shape-shifting T-1000, a Terminator sent from the future to kill him. Another Terminator, the revamped T-800, has been sent back to protect the boy. As John and his mother go on the run with the T-800, the boy forms an unexpected bond with the robot. With Robert Patrick.
"T2 features thrilling action sequences and eye-popping visual effects, but what takes this sci-fi/ action landmark to the next level is the depth of the human (and cyborg) characters." (Rotten Tomatoes)
"A pop epiphany, marking that commercially creative point where the power of Hollywood meets the purity of myth." (Globe and Mail)
