Jurassic Park (Sam Neill Tribute Screening)
“Life… Finds a way.”
We are dimming the lights, raising a glass, and firing up the projector in tribute to the late, great actor Sam Neill with one of his most memorable performances as a paleontologist turned action hero in Steven Spielberg’s monumental JURASSIC PARK.
Based on the Michael Crichton‘s blockbuster sci-fi novel JURASSIC PARK, director Steven Spielberg‘s mammoth hit exceeded audience expectations when it seemingly brought dinosaurs to life on the big screen with its revolutionary use of special effects effects and animatronics. It looks as fresh today as it did when it was released in 1993 – 25 years ago! The film follows a group of scientists and civilians, including paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), chosen to tour an island theme park inhabited by man-made dinosaurs created from prehistoric DNA. The [ark’s mastermind and svengali billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), is completely confident in his island’s safety… Until some of the beasts escape, and chaos ensues. With Samuel L. Jackson, B.D. Wong, Wayne Knight.
“JURASSIC PARK is a spectacle of special effects and life-like animatronics, with some of Spielberg’s best sequences of sustained awe and sheer terror since JAWS.” (Rotten Tomatoes)
“The enthralling man-vs.-nature parable based on the late Michael Crichton’s best-selling novel hasn’t aged one bit.” (Washington Post)
