The Rio Theatre's annual deep dive into Halloween-y movie goodness continues on Thursday, October 29 - in 3D! Join us for a 35th Anniversary screening of  director Rachel Talalay's sixth installment of the iconic 'A Nightmare on Elm Street" franchise, 1991's FREDDY'S DEAD: THE FINAL NIGHTMARE.

Newly restored in 2026, the film sees one of cinema's most enduring nightmares reaching a bold and chilling climax as the dream-stalking Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) extends his reign of terror beyond Elm Street and into the lives of a new generation. Haunted by recurring visions and unexplained fears, therapist Maggie Burroughs is drawn toward the dark secrets of Springwood, where the truth behind her nightmares may be buried. Joined by the mysterious John, the defiant Tracy, Carlos, Spencer, and mentor Doc, Maggie is pulled into a surreal battle where dreams become deadly traps and reality can no longer be trusted. As Freddy's supernatural power grows stronger, long-hidden secrets from the past threaten to unlock horrors that should have remained buried forever. He ventures on to a new location, scouting fresh young victims to hack up with his finger blades. He arrives in a small town in which his long-lost daughter, Maggie, works as a therapist for troubled youths. Furthermore, he attempts to recruit her for his dastardly pursuits, but she has other ideas. Father and daughter meet for a bloody showdown that will determine Freddy's fate once and for all.
