Kevin Smith's Sunday Cinema Side Hustle: Series Pass

Kevin Smith's Sunday Cinema Side Hustle: Series Pass!!

This Fall, come and kick it at the Rio Theatre for Kevin Smith's Sunday Cinema Side Hustle, a retrospective series featuring some of the maverick filmmaker's most beloved works - hosted by the man himself! We're beyond excited to welcome our "forever friend" (who so generously donated his time and energy to our #SavetheRio campaign in 2018) back to our stage alongside screenings of fan faves including CLERKS, MALLRATS, CHASING AMY, and JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKES BACK. Kevin is a naturally gifted storyteller and engaging orator who manages to fill every show with his trademark insight, stories, hilarious anecdotes, and a smart perspective on both the "the biz" and "this thing we call life." If you've never had occasion to spend some time with him, then consider clearing your calendar and getting a pass - we can't wait!

CLERKS (Kevin Smith, 1994 / 92 mins / 18A) Convenience and video store clerks Dante and Randal are sharp-witted, potty-mouthed and bored out of their minds. So in between needling customers, the counter jockeys play hockey on the roof, visit a funeral home and deal with their love lives.

MALLRATS (Kevin Smith, 1995 / 94 mins / 14A) Brodie Bruce,a Sega and comic book obsessed college student, and his best friend, TS Quint, are both dumped by their girlfriends on the same day, and to deal with their loss, they both go to the local mall.

CHASING AMY (Kevin Smith, 1995 / 114 mins / 14A) Holden and Banky are comic book artists. Everything's going good for them until they meet Alyssa, also a comic book artist. Holden falls for her, but his hopes are crushed when he finds out she's a lesbian.

Sunday, December 6 JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK
Doors 11:00 am | Event 12:00 pm *SHARP. (We mean it.)
JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK (Kevin Smith, 2001 / 104 mins / 14A) The comic "Bluntman and Chronic" is based on real-life stoners Jay and Silent Bob, so when they get no profit from a big-screen adaptation, they set out to wreck the movie.
