After laying roots (and gaining serious street cred) in
New York City, Toronto-born comedian Sabrina Jalees is homeward bound to kick-off her first eight-city Canadian Tour: BROWNLISTED, hitting The Rio Friday, July 5th, 2013 in Vancouver, BC. The half-Pakistani, half-Swiss, Muslim, gay comedian has never shied away from her normal upbringing, and plans to share her witty and riotous commentary on life, love, old world culture and new money celebs, with audiences across Canada.

“After coming out to my Muslim extended family (who broke up with me), I realized I had a platform to share with so many young Canadians who struggle between what they truly want for themselves and what their family expects of them,” says Jalees. “Whether it’s my Desi cousin wanting to date a white girl or a the daughter of a Chinese dentist who wants to be an actor; the BROWNLISTED Tour is about defying cultural norms and laughing at our differences.”

Best known for her regular appearance on MuchMusic’s Video on Trial, Sabrina began her career at the age of 16 as one of Yuk Yuk’s youngest stars and usurped Mike Myers as the youngest ever member of Canada’s famed Second City. She has appeared in the U.S. on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, star of MTV’s Failosophy, and is a Gemini Award-nominated host of the teen reality series, In Real Life. Her natural ability to connect with audiences (and relatable moustache) has lead to numerous motivational speaking opportunities and as a guest contributor for the Huffington Post.
